We have made some cutting boards before but never an endgrain. My boyfriend has always wanted to try to make a endgrain Cutting Board. So when we had some left over walnut we decided to try it out.
We started by cutting the walnut into strips. And one strip of hard maple. Once we had all the strips we started the glue up.
Then clamped them all together and let it sit for 1hr and a half. Of course it all depends on the glue and the temperature outside.
After it's done drying we sanded off an excess glue and started planning it.
Then we trimmed off the ends to make them all equal and then sanded it again.
My daughter even decided to help us out and sand it for us. Then we routed the sides added a Coat of butcher block conditioner and walnut oil and it was done.
Hope y'all enjoyed this and have a blessed day
